About
The OSCE Programme Office in Astana will support a two-day training seminar and a one-day assessment of mechanisms regulating the police’s work in combating domestic violence. National experts on combating domestic violence will train some 60 police officers on ways to respond to domestic violence cases. These events along with four upcoming training seminars for law-enforcement officers on this issue in other regions of Kazakhstan aim at building the capacity of police inspectors who respond to calls on possible domestic violence cases. The project will also be implemented in Almaty and Karaganda, bringing together participants from the surrounding regions.
The training seminars are part of the Programme Office’s multi-year efforts to assist the host country and civil society representatives in preventing and combating domestic violence and in offering professional social services to victims.
