OSCE supports evidence-based basin planning through stakeholder consultations and data verification in Kazakhstan

From 26 July to 4 August 2026, the OSCE Programme Office in Astana, in partnership with the Information and Analytical Center for Water Resources under the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, supported a series of consultations with basin inspections and other water-sector stakeholders in the Aral-Syrdarya, Zhaiyk-Caspian and Yertis basins. The consultations formed part of Kazakhstan’s broader efforts to develop basin plans and a General Plan for integrated water resources management based on accurate, up-to-date and jointly verified data.

OSCE supports rehabilitation and reintegration of repatriated children and youth through TurKIDstan and PathMakers Burabay initiatives in Kazakhstan

From 20 to 26 June and 22 to 28 July 2026, the OSCE Programme Office in Astana, in partnership with the public foundation "Zhaiyk Zhuldyzy", supported the implementation of the TurKIDstan and PathMakers Burabay programmes for children and adolescents repatriated to Kazakhstan from conflict-affected areas through the humanitarian operations Zhusan and teenagers with signs of vulnerability to violent extremism and radicalization that lead to terrorism (VERLT).

OSCE and inDrive launch Kazakhstan’s first online video course on gender-sensitive communication for drivers and couriers

The OSCE Programme Office in Astana and inDrive have launched a new online course on gender-sensitive communication for drivers and couriers in Kazakhstan, building on a partnership initiated in 2025 to promote safer public spaces, respectful communication and prevention of harassment.
