About
The OSCE Programme Office in Astana will support a roundtable discussion on implementing the Aarhus Convention principles in Kazakhstan for some 60 representatives from the government entities, the Aarhus Centres, environmental NGOs and expert community. Participants will discuss a draft concept paper to the Environmental Code, the Aarhus centres development plan in Kazakhstan for 2018-2020, ratification prospects of the Aarhus Convention’s Protocol on Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers and Amendment on Genetically Modified Organisms.
The event is part of the Programme Office’s multi-year activities to promote good environmental governance and to assist the host country in meeting its commitments under the Aarhus Convention.
