About
The OSCE Programme Office in Nur-Sultan in partnership with the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and Water Initiatives Center will organize a three-day on-site training and evaluation workshop under the UNECE project on improving mining and tailings safety in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. The event will be attended by some 20 government officials who will familiarize with the UNECE Safety Guidelines and Good Practices for tailings management facilities (TMF) and related methodology. Participants will also enhance their capacity to address water-related risks from TMFs, notably by applying the TMF checklist methodology during an on-site training.
The on-site training and evaluation workshop is part of the Programme Office’s multi-year efforts aimed at prevention, damage limitation and recovery from natural and man-made disasters.
