About
This event aims to present to a wider public the National Strategy “10 steps to reduce the prison population in Kazakhstan”.
The concept paper was developed by the Office of the Prosecutor General. It aims to address the issue of the growing number of incarcerated persons through a set of measures including legislative amendments, electronic monitoring, and the introduction of automatic control for administrative offenders and conditionally-released persons.
The event will bring together high-level government officials, MPs, representatives of NGOs, academia, advocates, local and international legal experts.
