About
The purpose of this seminar on the media provisions of the newly adopted Criminal and Administrative Procedure Codes is to raise awareness of journalists and lawyers on recently introduced legal norms and strengthen their professional capacity. It further aimes at supporting Kazakhstan in its reform and capacity-building efforts on promoting media freedom and freedom of expression in line with the OSCE principles and commitments.
The seminar will focus on the notion of deliberately false information and how to avoid accusations on the matter, issues of guilty knowledge as an essential element of slander and dissemination of misleading information as well as media coverage of problematic aspects of social, religious and national tolerance and discord.
It will take place in Almaty (10 November), Astana (12 November) and Aktobe (14 November).
