This seminar is the second in a series of 2015 activities aimed at strengthening the capacity of law-enforcement officers and legal community including defence lawyers, to effectively function in the realities of the newly adopted Criminal Procedure Code.
The seminar will provide defence lawyers an opportunity to acquire a deeper understanding of criminal procedure legislation through learning rules of evidence and relevant defence strategies.
Participants will discuss issues on the relevance and admissibility of evidence, ways and means of evidence gathering, as well as enhancing defence lawyers’ knowledge and skills on newly introduced evidence deposition procedure.
In accordance with its long-standing programmatic activities in the area of the rule of law reforms, the OSCE Programme Office in Astana facilitated the participation of national experts and representatives of non-governmental organizations.
