About

Some 20 representatives of Kazakhstan’s regional Ministry of Interior departments will attend a three-day training seminar dedicated to the best practices in the activities of police in Multi-Ethnic policing in Kazakhstan.

Training event for mid-level police officers is aimed to improve the sensitivity of police service on issues regarding inter-ethnic relations as well as to build up capacity in inter-ethnic relations within police structures. The event will be led by the experts from OSCE Special Police Matters Unit, OSCE Centre in Bishkek and Switzerland, who will share their expertise and knowledge with police officers on understanding of Multi-Ethnic policing concepts, principles and norms and how to apply them in carrying out their tasks.

The event is a continuation of the project launched in 2012 to enhance the capacity of the Ministry of Interior and its police officers to operate in multi-ethnic environments.
