About

The ToT event in line with the Basic Investigation of Computers and Electronic Crimes Program (BICEP) is led by the US experts for instructors who will be teaching this as an entry-level training course for law enforcement personnel in Kazakhstan who processes electronic evidence or investigates cyber-crimes. Upon graduation from the course the participants will be able to teach fundamentals of computer hardware, networks, hacking techniques, information security, Internet resources, and electronic evidence handling.

The training is jointly organized by the OSCE Programme Office in Astana, the US Embassy in Kazakhstan and the Central Asian Regional Information Co-ordination Center and it is designed to prepare law enforcement personnel to act as a first responder for a variety of electronic and cyber-crime investigations. Course materials were designed for the participants who do not need any prior skills beyond basic experience with a Microsoft Windows computer and using the Internet to visit Web sites and exchange e-mail.

The training is part of series of the OSCE Programme Office’s activities in combating transnational threats, money laundering, the financing of terrorism, and preventing the abuse of the Internet for criminal purposes.
