About

This training seminar aims to enhance the capacities of the local police service in Almaty, Kazakhstan and will strengthen relations and co-operation with local population in preventing and countering VERLT. The training seminar will cover a range of issues including engaging with gender diversity in mind as well as working with national minority communities in police operations. Experts from Lithuania and Kazakhstan will focus on increasing co‑ordination with local authorities, raising public awareness on community policing, and increasing leadership and conflict resolution skills among community police officers, in particular, improving co-operation between community police officers and different groups of local population (engaging women, youth, and various ethnic, migrant and religious communities) in preventing VERLT, while protecting and respecting human rights and fundamental freedoms.
